Coach Bigler is in his 14h year as an English teacher at Jacobs High School. A 2001 graduate of Augustana College (IL), he played on that program's first three teams, serving as captain his senior season. Under Coach Bigler, Jacobs lacrosse had 5 winning seasons in the first 5 seasons of existence, culminating with NILAX championships in 2011 and 20012. Named 2011 and 2012 NILAX Coach of the Year by his peers, and 2012 Northwest Herald Coach of the Year, he strives to instill successful mindsets into all his players. The driving force behind his success is his wife of 11 years and his 5 children.

Kyle Pepich, Assistant Coach, 2nd season
Coach Pepich joins the staff this year after spending the past two seasons at Cary-Grove, compiling a record of 27-12. He played high school lacrosse at Schaumburg HS, being selected captain twice. He played collegiately at Northern Michigan University, also being selected captain twice and twice winning all-conference award; served as head coach at the university for a year. Founder and lead coach of Tribal Lacrosse, a local club program.

Julie Krepel, JV Coach, 1st season
Coach Krepel graduated from University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and then worked as a psychological technician at Lovleton Academy, which was a residential treatment center for high risk adolescents. From there she worked at New Trier's alternative placement high school and coached the freshman girls' lacrosse team for one season and coached 6th grade girls basketball for two seasons. She started at Jacobs in 2006, coaching volleyball and softball. She has worked as a special education teacher at Jacobs for the past 7 years and has coached volleyball here for the past 9 years. Dorian Gatlin, Frosh Coach, 1st season Coach Gatlin is a Dundee-Crown graduate, an academic scholar and athletic student. Upon graduation he continued his passion for football at Rockford College and then Semi-Pro Football. During this time Coach Gatlin has been a program Director for the Boys and Girls Club for several years building great relationships and being a mentor to students in the community. His experience brought him to Jacobs where he works security and coaches football in addition to lacrosse. His 15 plus years as an athlete has given him the tools, experience, and drive to coach students on and off the field. His priorities are to be a leader and encourager for students to gain strength, inspiration, and growth. |
